Emergency Medical Technician – Basic

The Cornbelt Fire Protection District, located in Mahomet Illinois, seeks full-time Emergency Medical Technician-Basics as candidates to work on our transport advanced life support (ALS) ambulance. The Cornbelt Fire Protection District is a full service, customer service-focused fire department that provides Advanced Life Support pre-hospital services and transport to a population of 18, 000 residents.

Under general supervision of the Fire Chief, the Emergency Medical Technician Basic, drives, operates and maintains emergency medical services equipment and apparatus; works with and provides assistance to the on duty paramedic and other Cornbelt personnel as required; participates in emergency medical service activities, provides patient care, assists with department prevention / education programs, attends training and performs related work as assigned by the Fire Chief or his/her designee. This position is assigned to a 24/48 hour work schedule.

Requirements

Qualifications for application include:

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification.
State of Illinois or National Registry Licensed Emergency Medical Technician – Basic
Possession of or ability to obtain and retain by date of hire, a State of Illinois driver's license.
Must complete physical as required by the Cornbelt Fire Protection District.
Ability to pass background check
Residency within Champaign County or any contiguous county within one year of employment.
